As a small business owner it is easy to start to concentrate on the lack of resources as you compare yourself to larger businesses.  You think, if I just had a staff to help me do these things or if I just had a larger marketing budget or if I just had the ability to get into the door of that company.

You can do whatever you focus on.  If you focus on how small you are and how you are struggling to make sales and meet payroll, you will always have those problems.  You need to start looking beyond where you are today and set some goals as to where you are going to be at the end of the year and the following year and 5 years from now.

When I helped start Omaha State Bank in 1972, we didn’t focus on being a small bank.  From the beginning, we put in place procedures that we would need when we were a $100 million bank.  We saw ourselves as large from the beginning.  As a business owner, think outside of the box.  I’m not saying it will be easy to change your focus, but if being a successful business owner was easy, everyone would be doing it.  Separate yourself from the crowd by seeing yourself as growing and successful.

Here at CFO Systems our goal is to help you grow your business and reach your goals.  We do that by coming alongside you as the owner and provide the best financial reports so you can understand the financial aspect of your business and review your income and expenses to determine if there are improvements you can make.  Give us a call to set up an appointment.  Our goal is to see your business successful.
