Krista Potter possesses more than 25 years of financial and accounting experience working for nonprofits, state agencies, an agricultural DNA technology company, and for a private accounting firm. Her background includes establishing and documenting internal controls, analysis of financial statements, budget preparations, AP/AR, payroll, contract and grant compliance, software implementation, and performing and preparing for audits.

As the accounting manager for the world’s largest DNA testing lab, she helped ensure correct costs, margins and revenues for new products, prepared the annual budget, assisted with establishing and documenting internal controls, as well as preparing and preforming financial analyses.

For 12 years, she acted as the finance director the the Lincoln Medical Education Partnership where she performed and directed the financial activities for the organization, prepared the annual budget and monitored the variances, she also participated in the selection and implementation of many different software solutions to serve the needs of the various programs ranging from a small class registration software solution to comprehensive medical billing and electronic health record system.

Krista also spent several years with the Nebraska Auditor of Public Accounts where she participated in audits of state agencies and various other political subdivisions. She also coordinated the budget process used by all of Nebraska’s counties, cities, school districts, and other political subdivisions., which required monitoring legislation and designing budget forms that conformed to existing law, and providing training each year as the laws and forms changed.
