Steve McCollister
Director
Steve began his multi-faceted career managing operations in multiple facilities for a family business manufacturing heavy-duty equipment lubricants marketed in 14 states. He directed five major marketing and facility expansions, negotiated eleven collective bargaining contracts, managed a workforce of over 80 employees, and served two terms as youngest president in a national trade association.
Next, he worked for the phone company, then USWEST, where he created a Corporate Competitive Analysis team to address opportunities and challenges in the newly divested telecommunications industry and coordinated economic and business development activities for USWEST in Nebraska. Steve was elected to three terms on the Douglas County Board of Commissioners serving in all capacities including as chairman.
His experience also included a campaign to be Mayor of Omaha. His political experience provided an opportunity to understand varied points of view and work toward common goals. As a volunteer at SCORE and occasionally paid consultant, Steve assisted “second-stage” start-ups with a goal to reduce the possibility of failure, often with businesses that were on the verge of Insolvency. His involvement in organizations that develop character in our youth and make our community a better place will continue to be an important part of what he does as an individual and as part of a business’s’ external operations.
Steve’s multi-faceted experience demonstrates a wide collection of opportunities, creativity, persistence, and the willingness to make hard decisions. His talents will help his clients meet today’s varied and difficult business challenges while encouraging growth and stability.
