Doug Hiemstra is a driven leader with over 30 years of experience in senior and C-level roles. He is highly skilled at propelling revenue and profits, talent management, strategic planning, operational execution, M&A as well as organizational restructuring. He is a trusted and respected communicator who is able to rally teams around organizational goals while maintaining financially savvy and decisive actions in the best interest of a healthy P&L.
As the president of the largest division of a large media company and later as SVP, COO, and EVP of that same media group, he was selected to lead high performance teams in executive roles and was responsible for due diligence and M&A negotiations that doubled revenue to $550MM+ with the acquisition of five new markets. He also led sales, circulation, finance, IT, digital, operations, and virtually all factors impacting the P&L, which included managing 16 direct reports including C-level employees as well as indirect responsibility for 4,000+ employees. He later managed corporate functions to stabilize the company during challenging industry times and was instrumental in the sale of the largely employee-owned newspaper to a media group.
Doug is skilled in negotiating acquisitions and favorable deals with suppliers and customers, in addition to providing strategic direction on union negotiations. In previous roles, he managed a capital budget in excess of $20MM annually, led aggressive cost mitigation process improvement teams to save $7MM annually, and led teams that generated profitability improvements of $5MM annually. Doug’s ability to get into the details and find results for our clients makes him an integral member of our team.
